What’s To Come!

We have journeyed north to Indiana and back, ate 37 bacon, egg, and cheese biscuits from McDonald’s along the way (maybe more), and have a bunch of stories to share.

We will get into the details later, but for now enjoy this moment from Christmas morning!

The Von Boeckmann Family :: Houston Family Photographer

Yesterday, Cat and I got to spend the evening with the Von Boeckmann family! We originally met Dr. Von Boeckmann when we got back on the road to dental health. A mutual friend told us about Dr. Von Boeckmann’s practice and once we finally got up the nerve to “find out the damage” we made an appointment and we are sure glad we did! What we quickly noticed once we visited his dentist office, is that it is a very down-to-earth and friendly place. It was almost like we walked in to a family gathering and one of our family members happened to be providing dental exams and cleanings. I am sure you are thinking “Yeah, right!” but it is the only dentist we will be going to from now on. I am sure that our kids will be seeing Dr. Von Boeckmann for their braces years down the road! If you happen to be in the market for a new dentist, be sure to check out Radiant Smiles of Texas! We drive over an hour to get there, so you know it is well worth the drive.

I am sure that some of you have been in the situation where you get to know someone in a business setting first and then on a personal level. We first got to know Dr. Von Boeckmann as our dentist and called him “Dr. Von Boeckmann” and accordingly called his lovely wife “Mrs. Dr. Von Boeckmann”. As Cat and I were driving to meet up with Dr. and Mrs. Dr. Von Boeckmann, we were trying to figure out if we would call them “Dr. and Mrs. Dr” or by their first names. We even went to the length of having our dialog all ready for when we would “pop the question” to see if we could call them by their first names. It went like this:

Luke: “Dr. Von Boeckmann, I know that you have gone to school for and worked hard to be called Dr., you have fixed my teeth, and you are close to being done fixing my crazy wife’s teeth, I feel like we know each other. Would it be okay if I called you Keith?”

However, we did not have to get to that point, because as soon as we got to their home, we said “Dr. Von Boeckmann it is good to see you!” He immediately said “Call me, Keith!” What a relief!

Anyhoo! Enough of our awkwardness, and check out this gorgeous family!

We love it when pets are included in portraits. Their Standard Poodle, Dolly, was a great sport and super friendly!

I really wish that I had more pictures of this from when I was little. I am a sucker for those little “in-between” moments.

After we got some family group shots, Cat and I split up. I took the grownups and Cat went with the kiddos for some individual images. Dolly was up first!

I think that so many times when parents have kids, they forget to take a little time out for themselves. When we do any sort of family or group session, we always make sure to focus on the individuals and the group. These next couple of ones really make me happy!

Lovebirds!

After seeing Jenna play on her awesome swing, I am going to get something like this for us! Who doesn’t love to sit and swing in this lovely weather!

Finally, we got to put on our business professional outfits and get some rockin’ headshots of Dr. and Mrs. Dr. Von Boeckmann for them to use on their website as well as their print advertisement campaign for the dental practice.

Keith and Sherry, Cat and I had a great time with you and your wonderful kids! Hopefully we get to spend more time together when you aren’t on the search for cavities!

First Look :: The Reina Girls!

Tonight I was flying solo, while Cat was catching up on wedding albums and a few other tasks, and unfortunately she really missed out. I got to spend the evening with two awesome young girls who got all dressed up to get dirty and play with their horses.

Bailey, Riley, their mom and myself first started at Our Little Ranch for some pictures, then headed over to their little ranch for some shots with their horses. Both the girls knew their way around a horse and could jump on and off the horses in no time! They both have such great personalities that we all laughed and had a blast while we got these images.

These are just three of the many awesome shots that I got tonight. Can’t wait to show you the rest!

The Lee Family :: Illinois Family Photographer

Anytime we get to meet up with Christy and her family we are super pumped. Her boys are hilarious and keep us laughing the entire time. This time we got an ear full from little Nolan about some creation called a “pizza sandwich!” I am still not 100% sure what this is, but from the way he talked about it, it must be phenomenal!

Christy is also a photographer and a darn good one at that! You can check out her work here. It always adds a little pressure when we take pictures of other photographers, but we got some rockin’ shots of Christy and her family!

Check these out!
We were able to meet up at a great place that Christy, actually I think it was her husband Craig that initially thought of it, recommended, and it was beautiful. It had a historical village that was preserved and in excellent condition. We walked around during the evening and enjoyed looking at all the buildings and reading the informational signs about the place. Cat and I are suckers for the candid shots we get, and Nolan’s little sheepish grin makes us smile :)
We were even able to get a little alone time with the “adults” and got to focus just on them, while the boys had a stick sword fight. At the end of the session while we were talking with Christy, I noticed that the boys were on the edge of the bank of the river throwing in sticks and rocks and having a blast. Boys will be boys!

Thanks Christy for meeting up with us again and getting the boys all dressed and ready to go. Can’t wait to do it again!

Baby Riggin :: Crawfordsville Children Photographer

Good morning! Can you think of a better way to start off your morning than to look at pictures of a cute little girl!

Little Riggin was an absolute breeze to photograph. All she did was smile and play, and in turn, the rest of us smiled and played. We had a pretty big group (8 of us!) and we all took turns trying to make silly faces and noises to get Riggin smiling and laughing, but once we got her going, she was on a roll. I still cannot get over how much Riggin spoiled us by being perfect!

Check out this little cutie!

Madeline :: Houston Newborn Photographer

Madeline really spoiled us during our session this past weekend. She did everything we asked her to do :) She did not cry or fuss once during our photo shoot. She did great and I cannot wait to hear what you all think of this cute little girl!

There is gonna be a lot more of these coming, but I had to put something up tonight.

Be sure to leave us some comments and let us know what you think!

Madeline Elizabeth :: Houston Birth Photographer

Today was a very special (and unexpected!) day for Catherine and I. Our close friends, Anne and Caleb McCain, welcomed their newest daughter Madeline Elizabeth McCain in to the world today. The unexpected part was that she was not supposed to be here until Wednesday. We all were told that Wednesday was the day that Anne would be induced, if she had not started to have Madeline before then. However, the hospital called this morning and said they were checking to see where Anne was because they were supposed to be at the hospital but they had not arrived yet. Turns out a little scheduling mess up happened, but we all were excited that the newest addition to the family was coming a few days early.

Since Catherine and I are on deck to have the next “chitlin” around these parts, we were asking a lot of questions while we were waiting on Madeline’s arrival. What made it great was that this was a super easy delivery. No complications, no screaming, no paternity test (Ha! I couldn’t resist!), it was easy! The doctor showed up and said that it was time to start pushing and within 30 minutes, we heard Madeline crying from the other side of the door.

I am sure that you will be seeing much more of this little princess on the blog in the upcoming days, but for now here are some of the pictures from her first hours of life.

I knew things were getting serious when the “contraction tracker” was going off the charts!

The cutest and tiniest little Pampers I have ever seen.

Anne and Caleb had their outfit all ready to go for when they took little Madeline home.

During the actual birth, Catherine, myself, and Caleb’s mom, Kim, were sitting out in the hallway. Catherine and I were playing Tiny Wings, but you could not keep this anxious Grandma away from that door! She was listening to every step of the way and reporting to us. I love this picture!

Hello there!

Anne is a great mom! She looked great right after having Madeline and was ready for some food! We went on a food run to Chili’s not soon after this :)

I have a fun little video to show too, but I am having a few troubles getting it just right. So I will save that for tomorrow :)

Good night and thanks for stopping by!

Taylor Children :: Houston Children Photographer

This had to be one of the most fun sessions I (Luke) have done. Canon & Cailyn were so much fun to hang out with. We went around the ranch and essentially played and goofed off. We walked through the woods, had stick “sword” fights, climbed trees, and had a huge water fight at the end of our session.

I think you can tell the fun we had from these pictures.

Such a gentleman!

This duo has recently acquired a new kitten named Millie. Millie was a pretty good sport!

Classic! Every time I look at this photo, I smile. Be sure to notice Millie’s face.

Ooh to be a kid again! Although, sometimes Catherine still twirls like this. Maybe we are still kids at heart :)

I was able to sneak a shot off while Cailyn thought we were taking pictures of her brother.

Originally we were going to go down to the river, but we were told that the entrance to the sandy area has been closed off since people were driving their four-wheelers down there. So we created a little water park of our own at the last minute.

Boys!

These two partners-in-crime made my day!

The faces that these two made as they ran through the sprinkler were priceless!

Next, the Spiderman moves started coming out!

Another classic face!

I think that we all have done this at some point in time.

Dolores even made it in a few pictures at the end while us “adults” were talking. I was lucky enough to see this out of the corner of my eye and grab a quick shot.

You will be seeing much more of these kiddos, because they are going to be the ring bearer and flower girl at Heather & Cody’s wedding. If you take a look back at Heather & Cody’s engagement session, you may notice the family resemblance. Cody is their uncle! How fun is that!

Thanks Jenna for bringing the kids out to Our Little Ranch. I hope y’all had as much fun as I did!

First Look :: The Taylor Kiddo’s

What a way to start off the week! Jenna brought her kiddos over to Our Little Ranch this evening for a photo session. Little did either of us know the amazing pictures that we would create as the evening progressed.

My cards are still downloading, but here is one that I picked out of the group to show.

Enjoy!
